Gymnastics Travels to Maryland for Quad Meet

WASHINGTON - The GW gymnastics team will travel to College Park on Friday, March 1, to face off against host Maryland, alongside Central Michigan and William & Mary at 7 p.m. Live meet coverage will be on Big Ten+, and live stats coverage will be provided by Virtius.
GW STANDING
GW is currently ranked 43rd overall in the NCAA. The Revolutionaries' season-high score is a 196.625 from the Pink/Barbie Meet at home on Friday, Feb. 16, where they placed first overall out of five teams. In team rankings per event, they rank 23rd on vault, 59th on bars, 30th on beam, and 28th (tied) on floor. Kendall Whitman is currently tied for 28th place in the NCAA on floor, and Sarah Zois is tied for 46th place in the NCAA on vault. GW's top performer is Whitman, whose season highs include a 9.900 on vault, a 9.775 on bars, a 9.875 on beam, a 9.950 on floor, and a 39.300 in the all-around.
PRIDE MEET RECAP
GW scored a 196.250 at its Pride Meet on Friday. Ball State came in first with a score of 197.425. GW scored a 49.150 on vault, a 48.450 on bars, 49.275 on beam and a 49.375 on floor.Â
Anneliese Silverman and Kendall Whitman both set career-highs in the all-around, Silverman with a 39.325 and Whitman with a 39.300. Brooke Izzo placed first on beam with a career-high score of 9.900. Sarah Zois placed third on vault with a 9.875. Delaney DeHaan posted a career-high on bars with a score of 9.850. Silverman and Whitman both posted a 9.900 on floor.
A LOOK AT MARYLAND, CENTRAL MICHIGAN AND W&M
In past meets, GW has been outperformed by Maryland in 10 meets out of their 16 overall matchups. The last win against Maryland came in 2016 in a quint-meet with a score of 195.725. Currently, Maryland is ranked 37th overall in the NCAA. In team rankings per event, they rank 35th on vault, 49th on bars, 34th on beam, and 28th (tied) on floor. The top performer for the Terps has been Natalie Martin, whose season highs include a 9.900 on vault, a 9.875 on beam, and a 9.900 on floor. The Terrapins are coming off of a quint-meet loss on Saturday at State College against Illinois, Iowa, Michigan and Penn State, where they scored a 195.100.
The Revolutionaries have only faced Central Michigan one time in a home meet in 2006, where they came in second with a score of 190.675. The Chippewas currently rank 40th overall in the NCAA. In team rankings per event, they rank 26th on vault, 42nd on bars, 45th on beam, and 35th on floor. The top performer for the season has been Luciana Alvarado-Reid, whose season highs include a 9.850 on vault, a 9.950 on bars, a 9.850 on beam, a 9.925 on floor, and a 39.525 in the AA. Central Michigan finished in second place in their dual meet against Kent State at McGuirk Arena this past Saturday with a score of 195.425.Â

The Tribe placed second in their dual meet against West Chester this past Saturday at Kaplan Arena with a score of 192.275.
