Gymnastics Finishes Second at Pride Meet

Brooke Izzo wins beam with a career high 9.900
WASHINGTON – GW gymnastics scored a 196.250 at its Pride Meet on Friday. Ball State came in first with a score of 197.425.
GW scored a 49.150 on vault, a 48.450 on bars, 49.275 on beam and a 49.375 on floor.
Anneliese Silverman and Kendall Whitman both set career-highs in the all-around, Silverman with a 39.325 and Whitman with a 39.300. Brooke Izzo placed first on beam with a career-high score of 9.900. Sarah Zois placed third on vault with a 9.875. Delaney DeHaan posted a career-high on bars with a score of 9.850. Silverman and Whitman both posted a 9.900 on floor.
FIRST ROTATION: VAULT (49.150)
Following Zois' 9.875, Rachel Katz, Silverman and Marlee York each added a 9.825. Kasey Burke scored a 9.800, and Whitman rounded out the rotation with a 9.750.
SECOND ROTATION: BARS (48.450)
DeHaan posted a career-high 9.850. Silverman and Katz each added a 9.800. Whitman scored a career-high 9.775. Maya Peters scored a 9.225, and Madi McMullen ended the rotation with a 6.700.
THIRD ROTATION: BEAM (49.275)
Izzo scored a career-high 9.900, and Whitman scored a career-high 9.875. Nancy Kiner and Peters each posted a 9.850. Silverman and Zois each added a 9.800.
FOURTH ROTATION: FLOOR (49.375)
Whitman and Silverman posted a 9.900. Deana Sheremeta and Payton Lynch each added a score of 9.875. Burke scored a 9.825, and York finished the rotation with a 9.800.

GW gymnastics makes the trip to College Park next Friday to face off against host Maryland, alongside Central Michigan and William & Mary at 7 p.m.
