Bevins Named to Capital Classic District All-Star Team

WASHINGTON -Â Incoming GW men's basketball student-athlete Ty Bevins has been named a member of the District All-Star Team for the 51st Capital Classic, it was announced this week. The game will take place on Saturday, April 13 at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Southeast Washington, D.C.
Bevins, who stars at nearby Gwynn Park High School, will be the second Buff & Blue representative in as many years, following Laurel, Md., native Jacoi Hutchinson's appearance in last season's game.Â
Bevins is currently averaging 13.4 ppg and 5.8 apg for Gwynn Park and hit a game-winning bucket in the final seconds of the team's win over Fairmont Heights last week.Â
The Capital Classic is dubbed as one of the nation's elite high school All-American games, featuring the best of the Washington, D.C. area vs. the nation's best. Since 1974, it has been a beacon in the Washington, D.C. community, showcasing some of the nation's top high school basketball talent. The game has become a stepping stone for many college All-Stars, NBA All-Stars and Basketball Hall of Fame recipients.
