WASHINGTON -Â GW men's basketball's busy offseason continued on Monday with the addition of Oklahoma State transfer Andrija Vukovic, as announced by Head Coach Chris Caputo.
"Andrija brings tremendous size and a competitive nature to our front court," Caputo said. "His experience at the highest level of Division I basketball in the Big 12 plus his experience overseas makes him battle tested for the Atlantic 10."Â
Vukovic (pronounced VOO-koh-vich) played two seasons at Oklahoma State, appearing in 41 games and taking a large leap from his freshman to his sophomore campaign. After totaling 23 points in 11 games his first year, Vukovic averaged 5.3 ppg and 3.4 rpg while shooting 62% from the floor in 15.3 mpg, earning three starts in 27 appearances.Â
He reached double figures six times this past year for the Cowboys, who advanced to the NIT, including a career-best 12 points vs. West Virginia in February and picked up 10 rebounds in March at UCF.
The 6'11" rising junior was born in Montenegro and moved to Serbia in 2018 where his development flourished. He appeared for two seasons in the Basketball League of Serbia while maintaining amateur status and graduated from Prva Sportska Košarkaška Gimnazija KoledĹľ Beograd (First Sports Basketball College of Belgrade), a specialized secondary school program in Belgrade.
During his prep career he played alongside 2024 Oklahoma City Thunder draftee Nikola Topic and competed for the Serbian Junior National U16 team at the European Championship.
