RESERVE POWER
GW's bench catalyzed the victory at Old Dominion last Saturday, providing a season-high 34 points and a pair of double-digit performances in Christian Jones' 17 and Sean Hansen's 10. With the two double-digit outings, GW's bench has now seen nine games of 10+, led by five from Trey Autry, followed by three from Jones and one from Hansen.
Autry and Jones have already reset their respective career-highs multiple times in reserve and Hansen became the first player in the country to put up 10 points, seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks in the same game off the bench.
WATER FINDS ITS LEVEL
Gerald Drumgoole Jr. posted his best shooting day of the season on Saturday at Old Dominion, connecting on 3-of-4 3-pointers and 4-of-8 field goals overall to tie his season high with 16 points. Drumgoole, a career 38.6% 3-point shooter with 181 career triples, has found the touch after a slow start, making multiple treys in six straight games and shooting an efficient 42.4% clip (14-of-33).
The Rochester, NY native opened the season by making just 6-of-28 (21.4%) in the first four games. Drumgoole has reached double digits in eight of 10 contests and has scored at least eight points in every game, providing a consistent scoring presence and ranking second on the team in PPG. He entered the campaign having made 155 3-pointers in 64 games (2.4 per game) over the last two seasons at Albany (79 in 2022-23) and Delaware (76 last year).
HISTORY VS. ARMY
GW and Army are squaring off for the first time in over nine years and for just the second time in the last 50 years on Friday. The Buff & Blue have won three straight in the series, including a pair of home wins in 1972 and 2015 sandwiched around a neutral-site triumph in 1997 in Fairfax, Va.Fans can purchase a special Friday Night Flights ticket package, sponsored by Johnsonville and DC Brau.
