Castro Selected for AWS NBA Draft Combine 2026

CHICAGO - After shining at this weekend's AWS NBA G League Draft Combine, George Washington's Rafael Castro was one of five prospects selected to earn an invitation to the AWS NBA Draft Combine this week at Wintrust Arena in Chicago.
Castro was one of 44 prospects invited to the G League Showcase on Saturday and Sunday and stood out with his performance in a pair of scrimmages as well as with his measurables that included a 7'1.25" wingspan and a 36.5" max vertical leap.
Castro was lauded by No Ceilings' Maxwell Baumbach as one of the top prospects of the weekend thanks to his presence on the defensive end, which GW fans came to know by his keen ability to pile up blocks and steals. Jamaill Hines, also of No Ceilings, profiled the Revolutionaries' big man as the next in line of Atlantic 10 NBA Draft selections.
Now, Castro will join 73 invitees at the main NBA Draft Combine this week in Chicago. The four-day event will feature skill drills, interviews with teams and scrimmages on Wednesday and Thursday. He is one of just four mid-major players at the combine and will participate on "Team Weems" for the 5-on-5 games.
