
Gymnastics Finishes Second at Florida

Junior Sarah Zois sets career high on beam at 9.900
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – GW gymnastics scored a 194.550 at Florida on Friday as part of a second-place finish behind the host Florida who scored a 197.100. Fisk placed third with a score of 189.950 followed by newcomers Talladega with a score of 187.750.
GW scored a 48.950 on vault, a 47.925 on bars, 48.775 on beam and a 48.500 on floor.
Kendall Whitman and Rachel Katz tied for first on vault with a 9.850. Newcomer Delaney DeHaan took first place on bars with a score of 9.775. Sarah Zois came in first and set a new career high on beam with a score of 9.900. Whitman also paced the floor rotation with a score of 9.875.
ROTATION ONE – FLOOR (48.500)
GW began the evening on the floor. Whitman led the floor rotation and Payton Lynch added a 9.775. Deana Sheremeta scored a 9.700, Kasey Burke and Marlee York scored a 9.575, and Anneliese Silverman recorded a 9.525.
ROTATION TWO – VAULT (48.950)
Behind Katz's and Whitman's 9.850, Zois added a 9.775, Kasey Burke scored a 9.750, Marlee York scored a 9.725 and Silverman finished the vault rotation with a 9.650.
ROTATION THREE – UNEVEN BARS (47.925)
DeHaan led the bars lineup with a 9.775 and Silverman added a score of 9.700. Newcomers Maya Peters and Sophia Tyeryar debuted with a 9.625 and 9.650, respectively. Rachel Katz posted a 9.175 and Marlee York rounded out the rotation with an 8.950.
ROTATION FOUR – BEAM (48.775)
After a career-high score of 9.900 in GW's final event for Zois, Kendall Whitman added a 9.850, followed by Maya Peters with a score of 9.825. Marlee York and Anneliese Silverman both scored a 9.800, and Deana Sheremeta closed out the final rotation with a 9.200.

GW returns home Sunday for the annual Lindsey Ferris Invitational at 1 p.m., hosting Temple, Cornell, Yale and Penn.
