Three School Records Fall at Dalton Ebanks Invite

Benzinger, Fowkes and Sand set new marks
FAIRFAX, Va. - GW outdoor track and field continued its campaign on Saturday with the Dalton Ebanks Invite at George Mason. The Buff & Blue came away with a pair of event wins and saw three school records get reset in the day's festivities.
On the men's side, Ryan Fowkes bested his own school record in the 800m, winning the event in 1:51.38, the first Colonial to break the 1:52 mark in program history. Thomas Sand followed suit with a second-place finish in the 5000m, topping the previous school record by nearly seven seconds with a time of 14:41.41.
In women's competition, first-year Emma Benzinger continued her impressive debut campaign with a school record in the 100m. Fellow first-year Sarah Mitchell topped the field in the 1500m with a personal-best time of 4:30.04.
UP NEXT: The Buff & Blue are back in action next Saturday, traveling to Charlottesville, Va., for the UVA Grand Prix.
RESULTS
