Chambliss, Whitman Advance to NCAA Regionals

Duo to compete at Denver regional
INDIANAPOLIS - For the second-straight season, Deja Chambliss and Kendall Whitman have been selected to compete as individual qualifiers at the 2023 NCAA Regionals. Chambliss will compete in the all-around and Whitman will compete as an event specialist on floor at the University of Denver on March 31 at 4 p.m. EST.
The NCAA gymnastics committee selects the top 12 all-around competitors and top 16 event specialists based on national qualifying scores and places them in one of four regional sites. Chambliss advanced with her 39.345 NQS in the all-around and Whitman was selected behind a 9.915 NQS on floor.
Chambliss finished the regular season named co-champion on vault and floor at the 2023 East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Championship on Saturday with a pair of meet-leading 9.900s on the event. The graduate student also took home her second-straight annual EAGL award, being named the league's Senior Gymnast of the Year.
Whitman tied for third in EAGL on floor and scored a 9.900 or better in nine routines this season. The junior was named to the All-EAGL First Team on floor for the second-straight season and was named floor champion in four meets throughout the regular season.
