Gymnastics Posts 196.075 at Temple

GW bests season-high from Friday night
PHILADELPHIA – Just two days after hitting a season-high at home, GW gymnastics posted a new season-best with a 196.075 in a second-place finish at Temple on Sunday. It's the first time this season that GW has surpassed the 196.000 threshold. GW scored 48.900 on vault, 48.975 on bars, a season-high 49.050 on beam and 49.100 on floor.Â
NC State topped the four-team field with 196.475, Temple finished third with 195.450 and Penn finished fourth with 195.125.Â
Libby Garfoot was named co-champion on bars, matching her career-high of 9.900. Deja Chambliss tied for first overall on floor with a season-high 9.925. Chambliss also finished second overall on vault with a 9.875.Â
ROTATION ONE – BEAM (49.050)Â
GW began the afternoon on beam with its season-high led by a trio of 9.825s from Anneliese Silverman, Kendall Whitman and Sarah Zois. Chambliss added a 9.800, Marlee York posted a career-high 9.775 and Rachel Katz rounded out the beam rotation with a 9.600.
ROTATION TWO – FLOOR (49.100)
GW moved to floor for rotation two, led by Chambliss' season-high. Kendall Whitman posted her second-straight 9.900, Payton Lynch added a 9.800, Deana Sheremeta added a 9.775, York scored a 9.700 and Kylie Kazmierski posted a 9.175.
ROTATION THREE – VAULT (48.950)Â
Chambliss led GW's vault lineup, Whitman added a season-high 9.850, Hannah Munnelly and York added a pair of 9.775s and Sarah Zois and Katz added 9.675s.
ROTATION FOUR – BARS (49.000)
GW finished the night on bars led by Garfoot's 9.900. Silverman posted a 9.850, Katz added a 9.775, Madi McMullen scored a 9.750, Munnelly registered a 9.700 and Chambliss rounded out the night with a 9.475.

GW will host Western Michigan, Fisk, Ursinus and Bowling Green on Friday at Smith Center at 7 p.m. GW will then complete its two-meet weekend at Towson on Sunday for a 1 p.m. start.Â
