Gymnastics Hits Season High in First-Place Finish

Chambliss wins vault title and all-around title
WASHINGTON – GW gymnastics finished first in its annual Pink Meet, finishing with a season-high 195.975 to top the four-team field. North Carolina placed second with 194.075, Yale finished third with 194.050 and Temple rounded out the standings with 193.975.
The Buff & Blue posted a season-high on bars with a 49.175, their first score above the 49.000 mark on the event this season. GW scored 49.100 on vault, 48.500 on beam and 49.100 on floor.
Deja Chambliss was named the vault champion for the fifth-straight meet and topped the podium in the all-around with a 39.200.
Marlee York tied for second overall on vault, matching a career-high 9.850.
In GW's season-best performance on bars, Libby Garfoot led GW, finishing second overall with a 9.875, tying her season high. Anneliese Silverman posted a season high and Rachel Katz matched her career high with a pair of 9.850s. Madi McMullen earned a personal-best 9.775.
Deana Sheremeta and Kendall Whitman paced GW's floor lineup with matching 9.900s, a career best for Sheremeta. The duo tied for second overall.
ROTATION ONE – VAULT (49.100)
Chambliss led the vault lineup with her 9.875 and York scored a 9.850. Sarah Zois added a 9.825, Rachel Katz posted a 9.800, Hannah Munnelly added a 9.750 and Whitman finished the vault rotation with a 9.725.
ROTATION TWO – BARS (49.175)
GW was led by Garfoot, Silverman and Katz before Chambliss added a 9.825. Munnelly and McMullen each posted a 9.775.
ROTATION THREE – BEAM (48.500)
Chambliss led the beam lineup with a 9.800 and Whitman added a 9.700. Zois and Silverman posted a pair of 9.675s, York added a 9.650 and Sheremeta scored a 9.325.
ROTATION FOUR – FLOOR (49.100)
The Buff & Blue's floor rotation was led by the pair of 9.900s and Payton Lynch's 9.800. York added a 9.775 and Kylie Kazmierski posted a 9.725 in her GW debut. Chambliss rounded out the floor lineup with a 9.700.
