Gymnastics Returns Home, Visits Temple for Two-Meet Weekend

GW hosts annual Pink Meet on Friday at 7 p.m.
WASHINGTON – GW gymnastics returns to the Smith Center for the first time in over a month, hosting North Carolina, Temple and Yale for its annual Pink Meet. March outs will begin at 7 p.m., with live coverage available on ESPN+.
GW will complete its two-meet weekend at Temple on Sunday with NC State and Penn. March outs in McGonigle Hall are set for 6 p.m.

At each home meet this season, Cards for Hospitalized Kids will have a station set up where fans can create and decorate cards for patients in hospitals across the country. Materials and a box for distribution will be set up outside the box office. Follow Cards For Hospitalized Kids on social media to learn more about the organization and learn how to make an impact.Â

GW posted a 195.375 at New Hampshire last weekend, highlighted by season-highs on vault (49.200) and floor (49.175). GW's best vault rotation of the season was highlighted by four scores that either tied a career-high or were season-bests, with Deja Chambliss, Kendall Whitman and Sarah Zois posting season-highs and Hannah Munnelly matching her personal best. Â

After finishing the 2022 season first in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) on vault, Chambliss once again finds herself in the driver's seat on the event after six weeks of competition, sitting atop the EAGL rankings with a 9.887 average score. At UNH, Chambliss topped the podium on vault for the fourth-straight meet with a season-high 9.925. The graduate student has not scored below 9.850 on the event in GW's first six meets and is ranked 19th nationally according to Road to Nationals.
