Gymnastics Visits New Hampshire for EAGL Quad Meet

March outs from Whittemore Center set for 1 p.m. on Sunday
WASHINGTON – GW gymnastics will hit the road before returning to the Smith Center next week, visiting New Hampshire for a Sunday quad meet with North Carolina and LIU. March outs from the Whittemore Center are scheduled for 1 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
GW tallied a 195.195 in its most recent meet at Denver, recording event scores of 49.075 on vault, 48.725 on bars, 48.675 on beam and 48.700 on floor. Deja Chambliss won her third vault title of the season after posting a 9.900 on the event, tying her season-high. Chambliss remains first overall in EAGL on vault with a 9.880 average score.
THE WEEK FOR WHITMAN
Kendall Whitman finished third overall on floor at Denver with a 9.875. In GW's second rotation, Whitman made her season debut on beam, registering a 9.775. The Pottstown, Pa., native earned a 9.875 on floor at Towson to help the junior earn EAGL Specialist of the Week, the first weekly honor for George Washington this season.
Whitman also remained an essential piece to GW's vault lineup, recording a 9.800 and a 9.775, respectively. Whitman has not scored below the 9.775 threshold on the event since March 11, 2022.
EAGL MATCHUP
After five weeks of competition, New Hampshire sits last in the EAGL conference, averaging a 193.595. LIU is sixth among the eight EAGL schools, averaging a 194.113. North Carolina checks in at No. 2 with a 195.880.
North Carolina has three gymnasts in the league's top five, with Lali Dekanoidze fourth on vault and second on bars, Elizabeth Culton third on beam and Julia Knower fifth on beam and second in the all-around. LIU's Mara Titarsolej is first in EAGL on bars and Ilka Juk is second in the league on beam.
