Women’s Tennis Concludes Season at A-10 Championship

GW falls 4-3 to No. 3 Fordham
ORLANDO – GW women's tennis ended its Championship run with a narrow 4-3 loss to No. 3 Fordham in the Atlantic 10 semifinals on Friday night in Orlando.
GW's No. 1 and No. 3 doubles flights clinched a 1-0 advantage for the Buff & Blue. Katarina Marinkovikj and Stella Wiesemann dominated their respective singles matchups with a pair of straight-set victories to put the Buff & Blue up 3-0.
The Rams cruised to three singles wins to force a tiebreaker at the No. 3 flight between Alexandra Vesikallio and Eleni Fasoula. The pair split the opening two sets before Fasoula claimed the tiebreaking victory to send her team to the championship final.
