Baseball Tripped Up at Richmond, 11-5

Nine Colonials pick up hits in the effort
For the second straight game, GW got off to an early lead with Anthony Frechette and Logan Leax plating a pair of runs in the first inning. While Richmond tied the game in the second, the Colonials pulled ahead 3-2 in the third after Jon Bruno scored on a throwing error.
Unfortunately, the lead lasted less than a half inning. In the fourth, three of the first four Spider batters picked up a hit, including DJ Pacheco, who launched a three-run bomb to put Richmond up 5-3.
The Spiders would tally two more runs in the bottom of the fourth, before scoring another three times in the fifth. In total, UR scored eight runs on nine hits in the middle innings, while sending 15 batters to the dish.
Despite the loss, GW still racked up its fair share of hits. Nine different Colonials had at least one base knock, including Leax, Tim Nicholson and Steve Ditomaso, who all had two each.
The Buff & Blue will now look to win the series' rubber game tomorrow afternoon. First pitch from Pitt Field is scheduled for noon, with live coverage available on ESPN+.
