GW sets season-highs on vault and beam
COLLEGE PARK, Md. – GW gymnastics concluded its regular season at Maryland on Sunday, posting a 196.325 for its second-highest score of the season. GW finished second to the host Terrapins, who earned a 197.025. The Buff & Blue finished ahead of Penn (196.225) and Bridgeport (188.475).
GW posted season-highs on vault and beam with matching 49.325s. Olivia Raymond (9.850), Kendall Whitman (9.875) and Sarah Zois (9.875) all earned career-highs on beam. Deja Chambliss, Whitman and Zois tied for second overall on beam with 9.875s.
Chambliss and Whitman topped the vault podium with a pair of 9.900s. In addition, Chambliss placed second in the all-around with a 39.325 behind a career-high matching 9.925 on floor, a 9625 on bars, a 9.875 on beam and her meet-leading 9.900 on vault.
ROTATION ONE
GW began its afternoon on bars led by Simone Banen and Hannah Munnelly with 9.850s. Munnelly tied her career-high on the event. Raymond earned a 9.775, Chambliss posted a 9.625 and Rachel Katz earned a 9.475. Anneliese Silverman finished the bars lineup with an 8.850.
ROTATION TWO
GW moved to beam for its second rotation, led by Chambliss, Whitman and Zois with 9.875s. Silverman and Raymond posted a pair of 9.850s and Katherine Shek recorded a 9.725.
ROTATION THREE
GW headed to floor for its third event led by Chambliss' career-matching 9.925. Whitman added a 9.825 and Marlee York and Zona posted a pair of 9.800s. Payton Lynch and Raymond completed the floor lineup with a 9.750 and a 9.725, respectively.
ROTATION FOUR
The Buff & Blue finished the afternoon on vault with Chambliss and Whitman leading with a pair of 9.900s. Zois and York added 9.850s while Munnelly posted a 9.825. Katz wrapped up the vault rotation with a 9.775.
UP NEXT
GW will return to the Charles E. Smith Center on March 19 to host EAGL Championships. The two-session day will begin at noon, with the Buff & Blue competing in the 6 p.m. session.
