
Gymnastics Hosts Senior Day on Sunday

GW welcomes NC State, Temple to Smith Center for regular-season home finale
WASHINGTON – The George Washington gymnastics team will host its final regular season meet on Sunday, welcoming NC State and Temple to the Smith Center at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.
UPDATED ATTENDANCE POLICY: For indoor events at the Charles E. Smith Center, in compliance with University regulations, all guests ages 5-and-over will need to show their proof of vaccination by one of the following methods:
* The CLEAR Health Pass app on a mobile device
* Physical Center for Disease Control (CDC) vaccination card
* Digital copy of CDC vaccination card
Using the CLEAR Health Pass is not required. Individuals who do not register through the CLEAR Health Pass will need to show a copy of their Centers for Disease Control (CDC) vaccination card and a government-issued photo ID (for those 18 and up).
Limited exemptions will be permitted for those who are medically exempt or unable to take the vaccine out of a sincerely held religious belief. These guests should be prepared to provide the following:
LAST TIME OUT: GW competed in a pair of meets last weekend, posting a season-high 196.375 in its tri-meet at Pitt on Sunday and earning a second-place finish at West Virginia on Monday. The Buff & Blue's season-best performance came with a career-high day for Deja Chambliss. Chambliss earned a 39.600 in the all-around, earning her fourth AA title of the season. Leading GW on all four events, Chambliss then picked up her third EAGL Gymnast of the Week honor on Wednesday. GW earned four event scores above the 49.000 threshold for the first time this season, posting season highs on bars and beam.
SENIOR SEND-OFF:Â GW will celebrate five graduating seniors on Sunday, including Simone Banen, Deja Chambliss, Olivia Raymond, Katherine Shek and Olivia Zona. The seniors have been instrumental in the GW gymnastics program, accounting for one NCAA Regionals berth, 14 EAGL Scholastic honors, four All-EAGL Second Team awards, four All-EAGL Tournament selections, one EAGL First-Team honor and six EAGL weekly awards.
RAISING HIGHER:Â Seven gymnasts finished last weekend's competitions either matching or surpassing their career highs, including Chambliss (UB, 9.850 BB, 9.925), Rachel Katz (UB, 9.825), Hannah Munnelly (V, 9.775), Shek (BB, 9.825), Anneliese Silverman (BB, 9.875), Marlee York (V, 9.775) and Sarah Zois (V, 9.825).
EYES ON NQS:Â This week's NCAA RoadToNationals.com rankings are the first of the season that account for each team's National Qualifying Score (NQS). The NQS is based on a team's and all-around competitor's six best regular season meet scores, three of which must be away meets. GW currently is No. 39 in the nation with a 195.040 NQS.
ROAD AHEAD:Â Following their Senior Day meet, the Buff & Blue will head to Nebraska on Friday for a tri-meet with Lindenwood and Penn at 7:30 p.m. (EST) on Big Ten Network+.
