
Gymnastics Posts 194.550 to Finish Second at West Virginia

GW looks ahead to Senior Day on Feb. 27
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – After posting a season-high in its tri-meet at Pitt on Sunday, the George Washington gymnastics team wrapped its three-meet road stretch on Monday night at West Virginia. GW put up a 194.550 to finish second to the host Mountaineers (196.100) and ahead of William & Mary (187.900).
Kendall Whitman earned a season-high 9.800 on beam to top the podium and tied for third on vault with a 9.775. Sarah Zois registered a 9.800 on vault to finish second overall.
Deja Chambliss finished second in the all-around with a 39.050. Chambliss led GW on floor with a 9.900, finishing third overall.
ROTATION ONE
The Buff & Blue began their evening on bars with Rachel Katz and Simone Banen leading with a pair of 9.775s. Libby Garfoot and Olivia Raymond added 9.725s and Chambliss posted a 9.675. Olivia Zona completed the bars rotation with an 8.775.
ROTATION TWO
GW took to beam for rotation two, led by Whitman's 9.800. Chambliss registered a 9.750 and Katherine Shek and Zona recorded matching 9.725s. Anneliese Silverman contributed a 9.550 and Zois recorded an 8.675.
ROTATION THREE
GW headed to floor for its third event, with Chambliss posting a 9.900. Whitman added a 9.875, Zona scored a 9.825, Marlee York registered a 9.725, Silverman added a 9.200 and Payton Lynch completed the third rotation with a 9.125.
ROTATION FOUR
The Buff & Blue ended their night posting their highest event score of the evening on vault. Zois led GW with a 9.800, and Whitman and York added 9.775s. Chambliss and Katz registered 9.725s and Shek finished the night for GW with a 9.700.
UP NEXT
GW will return to the Smith Center on Sunday, Feb. 27, for Senior Day and Brownie Girl Scout Day. GW will host NC State and Temple, with march-outs set for 1 p.m.
