Back-to-Back A-10 Softball Regular Season Champions Announces 2023 Schedule

Buff and Blue Opens season February 10
WASHINGTON - Looking to capture its third Atlantic 10 Regular Season Championship in as many years, GW softball announced its 52-game regular season schedule on Monday.
The 2023 season will be led under the direction of head coach Chrissy Schoonmaker (second year), assistants Teresa Fister (second year) and Kris Richards (first year), and graduate assistant Sierra Lange (first year).Â
The Buff and Blue begin the season on the road with a run of four tournaments from early February through the first weekend in March. GW will play its first two tournaments in South Carolina at the Upstate Classic (South Carolina Upstate) and the Carolina Classic (South Carolina), followed by a pair of tournaments in Virginia, the Cavalier Clash (Virginia) and the Pirate/Spartan Classic (Hampton & Norfolk State).Â
GW makes its home debut on the GW Softball Field on Wednesday, March 8th for a doubleheader against Coppin State. In total, the Colonials will play 17 contests on its home field, where they were 13-3 one year ago.
Conference play features four home weekends and four away weekends, along with a midweek doubleheader at George Mason (Wednesday, April 12). Fans have the opportunity to catch home A-10 action starting with Rhode Island (March 18-19) and Dayton (April 1-2), followed by St. Bonaventure (April 22-23) and Fordham (May 6-7).Â
The A-10 Championship is scheduled for May 10-14 in the Bronx, NY, hosted by Fordham. The Colonials will be looking to make its fourth-straight appearance and win its second tournament in three years.Â
