Last Time Out:
GW is coming off a 1-3 weekend against tough west coast competition. The Buff and Blue took home a 23-11 victory over Fresno Pacific before falling to both #15 San Jose State and #16 California Baptist by a single goal, and dropping the final match against #2 Cal. Â Â
Final Push:Â
With just five games remaining in the regular season, GW sits in second place in the MAWPC, just one win behind #18 Fordham. The Colonials are still scheduled to meet with Fordham, Mount St. Mary's, Navy and twice with Johns Hopkins. If the Buff and Blue can manage to finish the regular season as a top three team in the conference, the Colonials will be slated for a first-round bye in the MAWPC Tournament.
More on the Midshipmen:
The Navy Midshipmen (10-12, 5-6) enter Saturday's match in the midst of a tough stretch, having dropped four of its last five. Most recently, Navy dropped a pair of MAWPC games, falling to Wagner, 13-11, before losing to #18 Fordham, 14-7, on October 22.
Saturday will be GW's second meeting of the season against Navy after downing the Midshipmen, 14-12, at the Smith Center on October 2. Jake Altmayer (50 points) and Michael Heller (48 points) lead the Navy attack, while Caden Capobianco is expected in goal with his 45.7 save percentage, having appeared in 20 of Navy's 22 games this season.Â

The Johns Hopkins Blue Jays (10-17, 2-9) are coming off a 3-0 weekend at the CWPA Division III Eastern Championship, where they took down Penn State Behrend, Augustana College and MIT to take home the D-III title. The Blue Jays will have a chance to reacclimate to D-I play on Friday when they meet with Navy in Annapolis.
GW is yet to meet with MAWPC rival Johns Hopkins but will do so twice in the next week. The Colonials will meet with the Blue Jays in Baltimore on Saturday, before the two face off again just six days later at Long Bridge Park, in Arlington Va..Â
Rematch with Mount St. Mary's:Â Â Â
The Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers (13-8, 6-5) are 3-2 in their last five games, which include a pair of wins over Johns Hopkins and a win over Navy, but losses to GW and Bucknell. GW met with the Mountaineers on October 8, in Emmitsburg, Pa., and came away with a 16-14 victory. The Mountaineers' attack is led by Tommaso Baldineti, who has 111 goals scored and 55 assists in 20 games played this season.
