Volleyball Ready for Pair of A-10 Contests

GW to visit Davidson on Friday, VCU on Sunday
WASHINGTON – GW volleyball will begin its five-game road stretch on Friday, visiting Davidson for a 2 p.m. start. The Buff & Blue will then face VCU on Sunday, with first serve scheduled for 1 p.m.Â
LAST TIME OUT: GW dropped a pair of matches to Dayton and Duquesne to open up its conference slate last weekend. GW went the distance with Duquesne in a five-set thriller that saw the Dukes rally to win three straight sets to put the match away.Â
DYNAMIC DEFENSE:Â Senior libero Bella Bowman reached a career milestone vs. Duquesne, tallying 1,238 total digs to earn a spot in the program's all-time top 10. The Louisville, Ky. native has been the key component to GW's backline this season, averaging 4.20 digs/set.Â
Middle blocker Addie Feek denied 16 attacks across the two most recent matches, including a career-high 12 blocks vs. Duquesne. Feek sits atop the GW defense with 37 blocks this season.Â
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS: Davidson is 6-7 overall and 2-1 in conference play after notching a pair of victories vs. Fordham and Rhode Island last weekend. Sophomore libero Bella Brady was named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this season after totaling 77 digs across three matches for the Wildcats. Brady leads the team and the conference with 294 digs. Hattie Rodriguez is Davidson's top offensive threat with 164 kills and 3.57 k/s.Â
MATCHUP WITH THE RAMS:Â VCU (6-9, 2-1 A-10) is first overall in the conference with its .228 hitting percentage. The Rams have tallied 685 kills this season and are led by Qairo Bentley with 169. Bentley also leads VCU defensively with 148 digs.Â
