Men's Basketball to Compete in Naples Invitational

Colonials take part in inaugural event this November
ESTERO, Fla. - GW men's basketball will head to Southwest Florida this Thanksgiving to take part in the first-ever Naples Invitational, it was announced on Thursday. The three-game event, which begins on Monday, Nov. 22, will be held at the Community School of Naples.
The Colonials will open up the tournament against defending Horizon League regular season champion Wright State at 2:30 p.m. on the 22nd. Depending on the result of the first game, GW will then face either Kent State or defending CAA regular season champion James Madison on Tuesday, Nov. 23 at 12 or 5:30 p.m. East Tennessee State, Murray State, Missouri State and Long Beach State round out the field.
Of the tournament teams, GW has only crossed paths with ETSU, once in 1971, and JMU, on nine occasions, most recently in 2012.
The Buff & Blue last took part in an MTE during the 2019-20 season, with two wins in three games at the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase over Evansville and Milwaukee.
