Women’s Tennis Falls to VCU in A-10 Semifinals

GW concludes season in Orlando
ORLANDO – The GW women's tennis team fell to VCU on Friday afternoon, 4-0, ending its run in the Atlantic 10 tournament in Orlando.
The Buff and Blue entered the tournament ranked No. 4 in the conference and earned a pair of wins over La Salle and Fordham to advance to meet the Rams in the semifinals.
First-year Stella Wiesemann and graduate student Alexis Nelson paced the squad with nine wins apiece in singles play this season. The doubles pair of Nelson and Lindsay Thompson proved to be a top combination as the duo finished the season with a team-best eight wins. The team wraps up its spring campaign 10-6 overall and 5-3 in conference play.
