Sophomore continued red-hot streak at the plate

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - GW baseball sophomore Steve DiTomaso was named the A-10 Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. DiTomaso is the program's second honoree this season, joining Noah Levin, who earned the honor on March 8.

DiTomaso continued his torrid stretch during a dominant weekend sweep of Delaware State, going 6-for-10 with three walks to post a slash line of .600/.692/.800. He reached base all six times in Saturday's series opener, going 3-for-3 with a run scored and three RBI. After going 1-for-3 with a run scored in the nightcap, the sophomore went 2-for-4 with a triple, run scored and three RBI on Sunday.

The Haddonfield, N.J., native has tallied four multi-hit affairs in his last six games, a stretch in which he is 13 for his last 21 (.619) to increase his season-long average to .375, which sits fourth in the league.

DiTomaso and the Colonials return to action on Tuesday, hosting Virginia at 3 p.m. on ESPN+.
