Softball Places 15 on NFCA Scholar-Athlete List

Buff & Blue posted 3.57 team GPA in 2020-21
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Following a tremendous spring on the field in which it won the Atlantic 10 title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time, GW softball has set a program record with 15 student-athletes honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association as 2020-21 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes.
The Buff and Blue representatives were among 1,982 individuals across NCAA Division I recognized by the NFCA on Tuesday for posting cumulative GPAs of 3.5 or better last school year.
The list includes five student-athletes who closed their collegiate careers with the historic 2021 season in Sidney Bloomfield, Jenna Cone, Jessica Linquist, Amber Lotz and Faith Weber. The 10 current Colonials honored were Hannah Eslick, Maggie Greco, Sierra Lange, Megan Osterhaus, Valentina Perrone, Alessandra Ponce, Sidney Torres, Olivia Vinyard, Alexa Williams and Daniella Wilson.
GW finished the school year with a combined team GPA of 3.57. Cone and Weber were named CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, while Cone, Weber, Linquist and Lange made the A-10 All-Academic Team.
