No. 6 GW Softball will open the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. vs. No. 3 Dayton, the conference announced Sunday.
The Revolutionaries return to the postseason for a second consecutive season and for the first time under first-year head coach Matt Klampert. GW finished the regular season at 23-20 with a 12-12 record in conference action.Â
The A-10 Championship takes place May 6-9 and is a double-elimination tournament. The Revolutionaries and Flyers face off in game two on Wednesday (2:30 p.m.), with the winner advancing to game five vs. No. 2 Saint Louis on Thursday (2:30 p.m.), while the loser will play in game three Wednesday (5:00 p.m.) in the first elimination game of the tournament.Â
GW is looking to win the A-10 Championship Tournament for the first time since 2021. A tournament victory would send the Revolutionaries to the NCAA Championship Tournament for the second time in program history. Â
The Revolutionaries faced Dayton in Ohio earlier this season in a three-game series on March 21-22. The teams split the Saturday doubleheader, as GW won game one, 9-2, before falling in game two, 6-3. Dayton won a tight 5-4 finale, rebounding after GW took an early 4-1 lead to win it in the seventh.Â
