Chambliss wins all-around with career-high 39.400
TOWSON, Md. – In its first of two meets this weekend, the George Washington gymnastics team posted its third straight score above the 195.000 threshold with a 195.500 at Towson on Friday evening.
No. 22 Maryland topped the field with a 196.350 while the host Tigers finished second with a season-high 195.675.
The Colonials earned their 195.500 behind team scores of 48.900 on vault, 48.825 on bars, 48.550 on beam, and a season-high 49.225 on floor.
Deja Chambliss highlighted the squad's night in SECU Arena, either matching or setting new career-highs on all four events to finish the day at the top of the all-around podium with a career-high 39.400. The Chesterfield, Va., native earned her first career 9.900 on vault, matched her personal-best on bars with a 9.800, matched her career high on beam with a 9.825, and matched her personal best on floor with a 9.875. Chambliss' 39.400 is also the second highest all-around score awarded to a gymnast in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) this season.
ROTATION ONE
The Buff and Blue kicked off their night on bars and finished with a 48.825. The duo of Anna Warhol and Chambliss led the way with matching 9.800s. For Chambliss, the 9.800 matched her career high. Simone Banen followed closely behind with a 9.775 while Olivia Raymond and Katya Karpova rounded out the bars lineup with identical scores of 9.725.
ROTATION TWO
The squad took to beam for the second rotation, posting a score of 48.550. Hannah Cohen topped the team with a 9.875. The junior from Dix Hills, N.Y. has scored above a 9.800 in six of the seven meets in which she has seen action this season. Chambliss also put together a solid beam routine with a career-high matching 9.825, while Raymond matched her career high with a 9.800. Olivia Zona added a 9.750 and Banen posted a 9.300 to wrap up rotation two.
ROTATION THREE
The Colonials moved to floor for rotation three where they with a season-high 49.225. Chambliss paced the squad on the third straight event with a career-high matching 9.875. Raymond and Zona followed closely behind with matching 9.850s. For Raymond, the 9.850 marked a career high, while the 9.850 for Zona was a season high. Warhol also matched her career high with a 9.825 and Crasa added a 9.825 of her own to give GW their season-high 49.225.
ROTATION FOUR
The Colonials capped their night on vault with a 48.900. Chambliss completed her career night with a 9.900, the first 9.900 of her career. Crasa finished her evening with a 9.800, while Olivia Norman added a 9.750. The pair of Katherine Shek and Warhol rounded out the squad's score with matching 9.725s.

The Colonials will have a quick turnaround, returning home to host the Tigers and Terps along with William & Mary and Yale for their Senior Day on Sunday. March outs are set for 1 p.m. in the Charles E. Smith Center.
