YOU'RE INVITED: Fresh off its three-point win on the road at Duquesne, the GW men's basketball team returns to the Smith Center on Saturday to host La Salle for George's Birthday Bash.
Tip-off between the Colonials and Explorers is set for 4 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ and the TuneIn radio app.
LAST TIME OUT: Arnaldo Toro and Armel Potter each recorded double-doubles in a crucial A-10 road win at Duquesne, 70-67, on Wednesday evening at PPG Paints Arena. Toro finished with 16 points and 14 rebounds (nine defensive) in 33 minutes off the bench, dominating in the paint on both ends of the court. Potter dropped 11 points and 10 dimes and Maceo Jack led all scorers with 20 points. Duquesne's Marcus Weathers led his team with 19 points and was one of four Dukes in double figures.
SERIES HISTORY: GW leads the all-time season series with the Explorers, 24-16. GW is 16-4 all-time at home vs. La Salle. Last season, the Colonials took home a three-point win (59-56) in Philadelphia.

DEFENDING THE 3: Saturday's matchup will be a defensive battle behind the arc, as the teams are the top two in the A-10 rankings in fewest opponent made 3-pointers, and both rank in the top four in defensive 3-point field goal percentage.
GW ranks first in the fewest opponent made 3-pointers per game (5.2) and fourth in defensive 3-point field goal percentage (30.2%).

TORO'S TOUCH: Toro delivered his fourth double-double of the season with 16 points and 14 rebounds at Duquesne on Wednesday. It was his first recorded double-double in a non-starting role. The last Colonial to reach a double-double as a reserve was David Pellom (18p, 10r) on Mar. 6, 2012 at Dayton. Pellom had six of his seven double-doubles off the bench during his career in Foggy Bottom.
THIRD TIME'S THE CHARM FOR POTTER: In his second game back from an injury, Potter played a full 40 minutes and secured his third double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 assists. In the last two games, Potter is averaging 15.5 ppg and 9.0 apg.
THREE OF A KIND JACKS: Jack continued his hot outside shooting Wednesday and now has four made 3-pointers in back-to-back games. It was the 10th time this season that he knocked down four or more from downtown in a game. Against Duquesne on Wednesday, Jack led the Colonials with 20 points after he had a 19-point performance in GW's previous road win last Saturday at George Mason. He set a season-best with seven triples vs. Davidson in the four-overtime thriller. Jack ranks second in the A-10 with 68 made 3-pointers, behind only teammate Jamison Battle.
