Golf Opens Spring Hosting Presidents Match Play Championship

TEEING OFF: The GW golf team begins its spring season on Monday, when it hosts the Presidents Match Play Championship in Weston, Florida. Teams will complete two rounds on Monday and a final round on Tuesday.

Format
Head-to-head match play. Each round consists of six individual matches worth 1 point each; 3.5 points are needed to clinch the match. In the case of a 3-3 tie, the tiebreaker is total holes won. If a second tiebreaker is needed, matches will go out 1 through 6. The results of the sixth match (last one out for each side) will break the tie. This process will repeat working backward until a winner is determined.
