LAST TIME OUT: The Colonials picked up their first victory of the 2019 season with a 2-1 win over crosstown foe American on Wednesday evening. After the Eagles' first goal early in the first half, the Colonials saw a second half surge with two goals on nine shots to propel the squad to a comeback victory.
SECOND HALF SURGE: After registering five shots in the first half and trailing early on, the Colonials turned it up a notch in the second half to finish the day at American with the 2-1 victory and a dominant 14-6 advantage in shots. Nine of GW's 14 shots came on goal.
PICKING UP WHERE SHE LEFT OFF: After earning Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team honors and leading the squad with a career-high 24 points on nine goals, eight of which came against conference opponents, and a career-high six assists, redshirt senior Sofia Pavon picked up where she left off on Wednesday at American with her first goal of 2019. Pavon was able to even the score by taking a pass from Rachel Sorkenn, drawing the keeper out of the box and shooting into an empty net.
