Broz Named to Top Draw Soccer Team of the Week

Following a two-assist day against Colgate, senior Sophia Broz was named to the Top Draw Soccer Team of the Week, presented by Soccer Management Company.
Broz is one of 11 players selected for the week of Aug. 31 – Sept. 6, and one of two players to be picked after only playing in one match over that stretch. She joins Navy's Helen Bonner as the only defenders selected for the honor.
Broz was instrumental in GW's 3-0 shutout win over Colgate last Sunday, assisting on the Revolutionaries' second and third goals of the game to help secure victory. The match is Broz's first multi-assist game of her career, and she now has three points on the season after recording an assist in a 2-2 draw at Towson on Aug. 23.
A 5-8 senior from Matthews, N.C., Broz began her career at Miami (FL) before transferring to GW in 2024. She's since appeared in 41 matches for GW, making 39 starts and logging 2,798 minutes as an integral piece of GW's defensive unit.
Broz and the Revolutionaries are back in action Thursday, hosting American at 3:00 p.m. on ESPN+. The Buff & Blue look to move to 3-0 at home for the first time since the 2018 season.
