The George Washington women's soccer team continued its winning ways at home on Thursday afternoon, dominating American 5-1. The Buff & Blue move to 3-0 at home for the first time since 2018, and five goals is the most in a single game since 2023.

HOW IT HAPPENED

14^th Minute – Caroline Donmoyer opened the scoring for GW, launching a shot from the top of the box past the diving American goalie for her first goal of the season. Assisting on the play was Kalia Kau.
24^th Minute – Kau made it 2-0 for GW after she registered a goal off a free kick just outside the box. Kau now has three goals this season.
50^th Minute – Being in the right place at the right time, Ella Provost-Heron collected a loose ball off an initial shot from Naomi Kim that was batted around by a few American players. Provost-Heron slotted the ball past the keeper, scoring the second goal of her rookie season.
63^rd Minute – Isabelle Ohlmann got on the board with he first goal this season, using a pass from Kim to convert on a chance in front of the net.
68^th Minute – Ohlmann answered her first score with another, knocking in GW's fifth goal via an assist from Anna Cornejo.
71^st Minute – American avoided the shutout, using a goal from Logan Rivers to make it 5-1 Buff & Blue late in the second half.

NOTEWORTHY

GW finished with a monster 24-9 advantage in total shots, including a 9-4 edge in shots on goal.
Jasmine Black worked 72 minutes of action in net, making three saves and allowing one goal. Marley Gerber accounted for the remaining 18 minutes of action in net.
Ohlmann led GW's offense with eight shots on the day, putting four on target. Lenea Guerrero, Alexa Meinen, Naomi Kim, Provost-Heron and Kau each tallied two shots apiece as well.
Both teams finished with five corner kicks as well.
American's Natalia Croce and GW's Naomi Kim were each issued Kim were each issued yellow cards in the match.
