Sophomore Luis Alfonso Preciado was GW’s top finisher for the second straight tournament
RICHMOND, Va. – The GW golf team concluded its second tournament of the fall season on Tuesday afternoon with a 10th-place showing at the VCU Janney Invitational.

Sophomore Luis Alfonso Preciado was the top finisher for the Colonials, opening with a three-under par 69 in the first round en route to a +1 total of 217. The Mexico City, Mexico, native tied for 32nd in the field of 75, a week after recording GW's best showing at the Marshall Invitational.

Old Dominion took the team title with a 28-under total of 836 to fend off Virginia Tech by a stroke. The Monarchs' Carter Morgan won individual medalist honors with a 13-under 203.

GW has three weeks off before returning to action at the West Virginia Mountaineer Invitational from Oct. 7-8.
