Wrapping up current Colonials in action this summer
WASHINGTON -Â A new school year starts next week in Foggy Bottom with move-in already underway across campus. Before we start the 2019-20 academic year, we take a look back at the summer results from both returners and newcomers to the GW baseball team.Â
RHP Harrison Cohen - Westhampton Aviators / Hamptons League
RHP Harrison Cohen - Westhampton Aviators / Hamptons League
Stats:Â 11Â games/9 starts, 4-1, 2.74 ERA, 49.1 IP, 25 R, 15 ER, 43 H, 16 BB, 51 K
Cohen had the best summer of all Colonials in action, earning the Pitcher of the Year Award in the Hamptons League. Cohen pitched game one of the championship series en route to winning the league title. Then, Cohen was signed by the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod League and pitched in three games. The rising junior appeared twice in relief in the first round of playoffs before starting game one of that championship series and winning a second league title. Additionally, Cohen was the All-Star starter in the Hamptons League and sported a 1.78 ERA in seven regular-season starts.
RHP Chris Knight - Shelter Island Bucks / Hamptons League

Knight gave GW two All-Stars in the Hamptons League, as he earned the nod as a reliever and tossed a scoreless frame with two strikeouts. The rising sophomore kept hitters at bay for most of the summer, allowing one or fewer earned runs in 13 outings. He struck out multiple hitters 11 times, including in each of his last four appearances.
UTL Steve Barmakian - Mystic Schooners / NECBL
Knight gave GW two All-Stars in the Hamptons League, as he earned the nod as a reliever and tossed a scoreless frame with two strikeouts. The rising sophomore kept hitters at bay for most of the summer, allowing one or fewer earned runs in 13 outings. He struck out multiple hitters 11 times, including in each of his last four appearances.

Barmakian finished the summer strong with a seven-game hitting streak for a Mystic team that advanced to the NECBL playoffs. Known for his on-base prowess, Barmakian finished fifth in the league in runs scored and 10th in hits. His 30 walks were good for third-most in the league, leading to a .449 OBP that also ranked third in the circuit and highest among those with at least 200 plate appearances.
OF Domenic Boselli - Covington Lumberjacks / Valley League

The rising junior was selected to the Southeast Collegiate Prospect Showcase and drove in three runs against the Southern League, including a two-run homer. Boselli performed admirably in the playoffs, going 5-for-14 in his team's three-game series.
OF Colin Brophy - Staunton Braves / Valley League

Torain earned playing time in one of the preeminent summer leagues and showed progress, hitting his stride in mid-July when he recorded eight hits in a six-game stretch, including a 3-for-5 day against Rochester on July 28.
