Colonials to host George Mason for Senior Day on Friday
ELON, N.C. – In its penultimate match of the regular season, the George Washington women's tennis team wrapped its road swing in North Carolina with a 4-3 setback at Elon on Sunday.
Despite dropping the doubles point, the Colonials attempted to come back in singles action. Katarina Marinkovikj gave GW its first singles win at #4 before Maria Siopacha notched a victory at #1 to give the Colonials a 2-1 lead. The Pheonix, however, took matches at #3 and #5 to regain the advantage. With two matches to go, Sara Grubac gave GW a much needed win at #2, but Elon secured its victory with a win at #6.
The Colonials will conclude their regular season on Friday when they host George Mason at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center for Senior Day at 3:30 p.m.
