This marked the first-ever Mid-Atlantic women's team race. The two-conference competition had northwest winds of 15-28 knots. Racing was described as "fun, fast and furious" by sailing officials. GW collected 3 wins and 12 losses against top competition with the University of Pennsylvania (9-6) and the U.S Naval Academy (10-5) finishing first.
"Very exciting to be a part of it," said Martin. "The team had a fun time. It was a great team racing experience for many of the sailors there. It was a light weekend -- a great change of pace for the women's team just before they start to head into championship season."
