WASHINGTON - GW baseball will host its first mid-week contest of the season on Wednesday, entertaining Georgetown at 2:30 p.m. at Tucker Field at Barcroft Park. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ and admission is free.
ABOUT LAST WEEKEND:Â GW started its seven-game homestand with a series sweep of Saint Peter's, outscoring the Peacocks 36-5 in the three-game set. The Colonials rolled to a doubleheader sweep on Friday, posting consecutive shutouts for the first time in nearly two years. GW then finished off the sweep with a come-from-behind win, 7-5, on Sunday afternoon.
TRANSFER OF POWER:Â The Colonials boast 15 new faces in the program this season, two of which have made an immediate impact at the plate. Junior Greg Anderberg had the game-winning three-run triple on Sunday and continues to lead the team with a .353 average while ranking second with seven RBIs.Â
Sophomore transfer Tyler Hix had a game to remember in the opener Friday against Saint Peter's, going 5-for-6 with three doubles, three runs scored and six RBIs, the most in a game for a Colonial since 2016. Hix's 14 RBIs continue to lead the A-10 and rank 14th nationally.
