The George Washington University Department of Athletics and Recreation announced today that Head Softball Coach James DeFeo has resigned and will not return to the program. "I would like to thank GW for the chance to lead this program for the last two years," Mr. DeFeo said, "I am proud of the milestones we reached during my tenure and wish the team all the best moving forward."

A national search for the program's next Head Coach will begin immediately. GW Softball won a program-record 33 games in 2018 and finished 12-11 in conference play to secure a birth in the Atlantic 10 Championship tournament.
