Baseball Falls in Opener at Saint Louis

SAINT LOUIS - The George Washington baseball team got on the board first in Thursday's series opener at Saint Louis, but the Billikens scored seven unanswered runs to take game one, 7-1, on Friday night at the BIlliken Sports Center.
Key Stats
- Steven Barmakian and Brandon Chapman both led the Colonials with two-hit performances.
- Junior Dominic D'Alessandro hit his sixth home run of the season to give GW an early 1-0 lead.
- Sophomore starter Jaret Edwards got off to a good start, limiting Saint Louis to two runs over his first five innings of work. He ran into trouble in the seventh, allowing a pair of runs before being lifted. A third run came in to score after his exit.
- Saint Louis added two more runs in the eighth to extend the lead to 7-1.
Scoring - Top 2: D'Alessandro lined a 2-1 pitch over the wall in right-center field for his sixth round tripper of the season (GW 1, SLU 0).
