LEADING OFF: The George Washington baseball team, fresh off its third consecutive weekend series victory, will wrap a brief road swing on Wednesday afternoon with a non-conference game at William & Mary. First pitch from Plumeri Park is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT: The Colonials outscored Dayton, 35-19, over the weekend en route to a 2-1 series victory. GW improved to 5-1 in the Atlantic 10 with the series victory and now sits at 15-12 overall for the season.
HONOR ROLL: Senior Isaiah Pasteur earned his second consecutive Atlantic 10 Player of the Week award on Monday after another dominant week at the plate. He was joined by first-time honoree Colin Brophy who picked up Rookie of the Week honors.
Pasteur recorded multiple hits in all four games last week to extend his current hit streak to 15 games. He batted .500 with five extra-base hits (three doubles, two home runs) and drove in nine runs while scoring seven times.
Brophy batted .357 (5-for-14) in the four games last week with three extra-base hits. The rookie has played in all but one of GW's games this season with 25 starts in left field.
LOVE THE LONG BALL: GW swatted six home runs in the weekend series at Dayton to elevate the team total to 23, which ranks second overall in the A-10. Pasteur paces the conference with his eight round trippers while senior Mark Osis ranks third in the conference with five. Eight of GW's nine everyday starters have gone deep at least once this season while five of those players have multiple homers to date.
Additionally, GW has already equaled last season's team total for home runs in less than half of the games.
TRY IT AGAIN: The first scheduled meeting between GW and William & Mary was scheduled for March 20 at Tucker Field but was cancelled due to a snow storm. That portion of the home-and-home series will not be rescheduled, making Wednesday's game the only meeting between the two teams this season.
SERIES HISTORY: GW leads the all-time series 36-25 but is 1-4 in the last five meetings. The teams last met during the 2015 season when the Tribe won two-of-three in a series played at Tucker Field.
