The weekend schedule has been altered. Friday's game has been postponed and the series will now begin with a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m.
LEADING OFF: The George Washington baseball team will continue its Atlantic 10 schedule with its first road conference series of the season this weekend when it visits Dayton for a three-game set at Woerner Field. First pitch in Saturday's doubleheader is set for 11:00 a.m.
STREAKING: The win marks GW's sixth straight and is tied for the longest win streak of the Gregg Ritchie era, dating back to the 2013 season.
A pair of players also each extended their current individual streaks in Tuesday's win. Senior Isaiah Pasteur finished 2-for-5 to extend his hit streak to 12 consecutive games. Freshman Colin Brophy went 2-for-4 to push his reached-base streak to 12 games.
MULTIPLE METZ: Robbie Metz's four-hit day on Tuesday pulled him into a tie for the team lead for multiple-hit games. Both Metz and senior Mark Osis have 10 multi-hit games and are two of just three players on the team with a four-hit effort this season.
The duo paces the Colonials in hitting as well. Osis leads the team at a .330 clip through 24 games while Metz ranks second batting .320.
SOLID TRIO: GW's probable starting pitchers for the weekend - junior Jaret Edwards, sophomore Elliott Raimo and junior Nathan Woods - have pitched well to date and have been a key reason behind the Colonials solid first two months of the season.
The trio boasts a combined ERA of 2.66 to date along with a combined strikeout-to-walk ratio of 64-to-19.
STAFF-WIDE SUCCESS: It is not only the weekend starters making an impact on the Colonials' success. The rest of the pitching staff has combined to post a 3.60 team ERA which ranks sixth in the Atlantic 10. The team-wide effort has also posted a 153-to-106 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
SERIES HISTORY: GW and Dayton last met during the 2016 season when the Colonials won two-of-three games on the road. The Colonials lead the all-time series 41-16.
