The Colonials (20-7) have won 11 straight games, one shy of the program record set in 2013. They're 13-0 at home overall to set a new mark for consecutive home victories.
LAST TIME OUT: GW won all five of its games at last weekend's Buff and Blue Challenge, finishing with a 4-0 shutout of Siena to claim the tournament title.
Jenna Cone continued her torrid offensive run, hitting .563 with five doubles and a home run en route to repeat A-10 Player of the Week honors. The sophomore had at least one extra-base hit in each game and tallied 12 RBIs to increase her conference-leading total to 33. She's hit .708 (17-for-24) over the past two weekends with eight extra-base hits.
Kaitlin Buff powered the pitching staff with three wins in as many appearances to improve her record to 6-0. The sophomore didn't allow an earned run in 13 2/3 innings, lowering her team-leading ERA to 1.97.
ELITE COMPANY: GW's .335 team batting average (240-for-716) leads the A-10 and ranks No. 12 nationally, entering the weekend. The Colonials have moved up on the list by showcasing an incredible offense during their current winning streak. They have compiled a .426 average (116-for-272) over the current 11-game winning streak, averaging 9.5 runs per contest.
STRONG SPARK: Marta Fuentes has done her job at the top of the order with a .375 batting average and .461 on-base percentage. The junior shortstop scored 32 runs in 27 games, good for an average that ranks No. 7 nationally (1.19 per game). She's also in the Top 10 nationally in steals per game (0.89) with 24 swipes in 28 attempts.
SCOUTING ST. BONAVENTURE: The Bonnies (5-12) are coming off a 2-3 showing at the Belmont/Tennessee State Invitational. Rylee Hehir has earned four of their wins and sports a 3.76 ERA over a team-leading 41 innings. Offensively, they are averaging 3.9 runs per game.
In the most recent series between these clubs, GW took two of three on the road in April 2016.
ON DECK: GW is set to host Coppin State in a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday before welcoming Massachusetts to the Mount Vernon Campus next weekend to continue A-10 play.
