GW softball took down Morgan State at the GW Softball Field on Wednesday afternoon, 8-7. The win boosted GW to 15-12 overall.

The Revolutionaries withstood a six-run fourth inning for Morgan State in the win. GW had been leading 1-0, thanks to an Ashley Corpuz solo home run in the third, but the Revolutionaries then trailed 6-1 after the Bears offensive outburst.

GW got to work right away after going down, slashing four runs off the deficit in the home half of the fourth on RBIs from Lucy Goodwin, Corpuz and Cadence Gilliland, to make it 6-5. Then in the bottom of the fifth, GW drew two bases-loaded walks to reclaim the lead at 7-6.

Still at 7-6 and down to their final strike, the Bears extended the game on an RBI double that scored a runner from third to tie the game at 7-7.

In the bottom of the seventh, GW loaded the bases for Gilliland, who sent a deep fly ball to center which was caught, but deep enough to score Emma Fales from third for a walk-off sacrifice fly.

Fales performed well Wednesday, collecting a team-high three hits and earning the win in the circle. She replaced Sophia Torreso on the rubber for the seventh, who had gone 2.0 IP in relief without allowing a run.

Up next, GW hits the road for the final time in March, traveling to Fordham for a three-game series on Saturday (12:00 p.m. doubleheader) and Sunday (12:00 p.m.), with all three games streaming on ESPN+.
