Softball Starts Second Half at Home vs. Saint Joseph’s

Revolutionaries welcome back alumnae for doubleheader Saturday
GW softball begins the second half of its Atlantic 10 schedule this weekend when it hosts Saint Joseph's for a three-game series at the GW Softball Field. GW extends an extra-special welcome to softball alumnae for Alumnae Day during Saturday's 12:00 p.m. doubleheader, before finishing the series Sunday at 12 p.m.

GW returns to the field this weekend for the first time since March 29 at Fordham. GW's originally scheduled mid-week game at UMBC was canceled as the remainder of the Retrievers season was canceled.
The Revolutionaries enter the back half of the conference schedule in the middle of the Atlantic 10 standings, ranked fifth of nine teams with a 6-6 conference record. GW's remaining schedule features matchups vs. the current top two teams (Saint Joseph's and Loyola Chicago) and the current bottom two teams (Rhode Island and St. Bonaventure) in the conference.

Saint Joseph's sits at 17-17 and is second in the league standings with a 7-5 mark in the A-10. The Hawks faced Drexel on Wednesday and won 9-1 in six innings.
The Hawks have efficient bats throughout their lineup with seven starters boasting OPSs higher than .700. Defensively, Saint Joseph's has four pitchers who have thrown over 1.0 IP/G, each of whom have ERAs below 4.50. Saint Joseph's leads the all-time series over GW, 28-23. GW and Saint Joseph's split two games in last year's A-10 Championships, however the Hawks are currently riding a five-game regular season win streak over GW.
