NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - After helping lead GW men's basketball to a pair of wins last week, Terry Nolan Jr. has been named Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Nolan Jr. did a little bit of everything for GW, averaging 15.0 points, 4.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals. At UMass last Wednesday, he helped the Colonials pick up their first road win of the season by tallying 12 points, a game-high six assists and three steals. Then, at home against VCU on Saturday, he matched his season-high with 18 points in an 80-56 victory. The Baltimore native also notched five steals as part of a defensive effort that saw GW hold the Rams 20 points under their season scoring average.
In A-10 play, Nolan Jr. is averaging 10.9 points per game which ranks second on the team. He leads the squad with 45 steals this season, which is fifth-most in the league.
Nolan Jr. is the first Colonial to earn Rookie of the Week honors since Yuta Watanabe during the 2014-15 season.
