Volleyball Finishes Home Slate with VCU, Davidson

Colonials to honor seniors prior to Saturday's match
WASHINGTON - GW volleyball is set to play its final home games of the season this weekend at the Smith Center, welcoming VCU and Davidson to the District. Friday's matchup with the Rams is set for 7 p.m. followed by a 5 p.m. start with the Wildcats on Saturday when GW will host Senior Day honoring Kelsey Clark and Alexis Lete prior to the match.
LAST WEEKEND: The Colonials dropped their only match last week to George Mason, 3-1. The match was tied at a set apiece before Mason pulled away to win the third and fourth sets and take the win. Clark and junior Skylar Iott had 13 kills each while first-year Bella Bowman led the defense with 26 digs.
ACROSS THE NET: GW faces VCU and Davidson for the second time this season after dropping both previous matches in four sets over the weekend of Oct. 12-14.
The Rams are the hottest team in the league, having won 12 straight overall, which includes an 11-0 mark in conference play. VCU is the top blocking team in the league, average 2.94 blocks per set overall and 3.29 in conference play. Jasmin Sneed (1.67 blocks per set) and Tori Baldwin (1.14) rank first and third, respectively, in the A-10.
Davidson enters the weekend hanging on to the final spot in the A-10 tournament picture despite being swept in both of its matches against Saint Louis and Dayton last week.The Wildcats are led by Ellie Crossley, who possesses a .424 attack percentage that is tops in the A-10 and fifth in the nation.
THANK YOU SENIORS: GW will recognize Clark and Lete prior to Saturday's 5 p.m. match with Davidson. The duo has advanced to a pair of A-10 tournaments in their careers, reaching the semifinals both times. Clark was named the 2015 A-10 Co-Rookie of the Year and has accumulated nearly 900 kills in 111 matches played for GW.
LEE-DING THE WAY: Junior setter Jaimeson Lee has arguably been GW's most complete player this season, leading the team in assists and ranking second in digs and blocks. Lee has posted back-to-back double-doubles entering the weekend, increasing her season-long total to 13.
