Men's Swimming & Diving Sits Third at TYR Fall Classic

Colonials close meet Saturday in Florida
NORTH MIAMI, Fla. - George Washington's Andrew Cho (100 back), Moritz Fath (200 free), Patrick Lersch (50 free) posted individual second-place finishes Friday to kick off Florida International's TYR Fall Classic presented by Swiss Timing.
The Colonials sit in third place with 220.5 points after the opening day at Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center behind Army (246) and Grand Canyon (244).
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Cho placed second individually in the 100-yard backstroke in 50.38 just behind Grand Canyon's Mark Nikolaev. The junior also swam a leg on GW's second-place 200-yard freestyle relay (1:24.15) along with Alex Auster, Dylan Arzoni and Lersch. He led off the third-place 400-yard medley relay that finished third in 3:23.65, teaming with Tommi Wolst, Emils Pone and Auster.
- Fath finished second in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:41.23.
- Lersch took second in the 50 free in 21.24.
- Wolst finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke (58.46) and fourth in the 100-yard butterfly (51.50).
- Pone was third in the 400-yard individual medley (4:06.10) and won the B final of the 100 back (50.32) to take ninth.
- Jake Ortiz (252.60) also notched a third-place finish, leading the GW divers on the 3-meter board.
UP NEXT: The Colonials conclude their stay at the TYR Fall Classic on Saturday. The meet resumes at 11 a.m.
