Lacrosse Looks to Stay Hot This Weekend

OPENING DRAW: The George Washington Lacrosse team goes for its second straight win when its hosts Delaware on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the GW Lacrosse Field on the Mount Vernon Campus.
LAST TIME OUT: Junior Jocelyn Donohue matched her season-high with four points to lift GW (1-5) to a 10-9 win over Robert Morris last Saturday. Donohue notched her fourth hat trick of the season and snatched up three ground balls. Seniors Shea Cassidy and Cassidy Shollenberger, junior Brooke Sands, and freshmen Caroline Kiernan, Katie Quinn, and Camaryn Kerns all netted one apiece.
SPREADING THE WEALTH: Eleven different Colonials have found the back of the net this season, including seven players with four or more goals. Jocelyn Donohue paces GW with 17 goals, followed by seniors Cassidy Shollenberger (7), Michaela Lynch (5), and Bailey Forcier (5).
HELPING HAND: With her three assists against Robert Morris, Michaela Lynch moved to lead all Colonials with eight assists on the season, a mark that ranks fifth in the A-10. The senior attacker also ranks eighth in the conference with 1.33 assists per game.
SCOUTING DELAWARE: The Blue Hens (3-3) fell to Virginia Tech, 15-7, on Saturday. Mia DeRuggiero and Sydney Rausa led Delaware with three points (2g, 1a) apiece. Megan Santoleri added two goals of her own in the loss. Delaware takes on Bryant on Thursday evening at home before making the trip down to Foggy Bottom.
SERIES HISTORY: The Colonials will battle the Blue Hens for the fourth straight season, with Delaware taking each previous meeting.
LOOK AHEAD: GW will open A-10 conference play on Friday, March 31 when it hosts Saint Bonaventure at 4 p.m. at the GW Lacrosse Field on the Mount Vernon Campus.
