SAINT LOUIS - The George Washington volleyball team opened its final road weekend of the regular season but fell in straight sets to Saint Louis on Friday night at Chaifetz Pavilion.
Key Stats
- Sophomore Jaimeson Lee recorded her third straight double-double, and 11th of the season, with 21 assists and 10 digs.
- Junior Kristel Moor led the Colonials with six kills while junior Kelsey Clark and senior Aaliya Davidson contributed five kills apiece.
- GW hit just .060 (27k-22e-84a) for the match compared to .211 (37k-18e-90a) for Saint Louis.
Set 1: Saint Louis 25, GW 21
- The first set was the closest of the night with six ties and three lead changes.
- GW started on a 4-2 run but conceded seven straight points to fall behind 9-4.
- Trailing 11-9, the Colonials scored six straight points to take a 15-11 lead.
- The Bilikens answered with an 8-1 run to take a 19-16 lead and held on down the stretch to win.
Set 2: Saint Louis 25, GW 23
- The Colonials started the second set on a 9-4 run and led 12-6 when Saint Louis used a timeout.
- GW stayed out in front and led 18-13 but Saint Louis scored seven straight points to begin an 11-3 run which built a 24-21 lead.
- A kill by Moor and a service ace got GW within a point but Saint Louis got a kill to clinch the set.
Set 3: Saint Louis 25, GW 16
- Saint Louis opened on a 4-1 run and never trailed to win the deciding third set.
