WASHINGTON - The George Washington volleyball team closed its home weekend with a convincing 3-1 win over Davidson on Saturday evening at the Charles E. Smith Center.

Key Stats
- Three players finished with double-digit kills as junior Kelsey Clark (14), senior Aaliya Davidson (11) and freshman Marianna Warren (10) combined for more winners than the entire Davidson roster (34).
- Clark stuffed the stat sheet by swinging .367 for her match-high 14 kills to go with seven blocks (two solo, five assists), six digs and three service aces.
- GW combined for nine service aces on the evening, the most in a single match since 10 against Delaware on September 15.
- Graduate student Stacey Benton and freshman Sydney Welch also tallied multiple aces with three and two, respectively.
- Welch finished with a match-high 23 digs while Benton finished with 12 digs. Davidson (18) and sophomore Jaimeson Lee (12) also contributed double-figure digs.
- Lee added 40 assists for her second straight double-double.
How It Happened
Set 1: GW 25, Davidson 8
- GW was nearly unstoppable in the first set, opening on a 5-3 run and never trailing.
- The Colonials swung .355 in the opening frame (14k-3e-31a) while converting 100-percent (9-for-9) of its sideout opportunities.
- GW totaled four of its aces in the first set with Benton contributing a pair.
Set 2: Davidson 25, GW 22
- The second set was the closest of the night with ten ties and five lead changes before Davidson knotted the match at 1-1.
- GW trailed early, 5-3, but used a 5-1 run to move ahead by an 8-6 margin.
- Davidson responded by scoring six of the next eight points to pull ahead, 12-10.
- GW led late, 21-18, but the Wildcats closed the set on a 7-2 run to take the win.
Set 3: GW 25, Davidson 13
- GW rediscovered its hot hitting in the third set, swinging .324 (14k-3e-34a).
- The Colonials' defense forced seven attack errors and yielded just seven kills while totaling four blocks.
- GW trailed early at 8-6 but used a dominant 12-1 run, which included eight straight points with Welch at the service line, to open a commanding 18-9 lead.
Set 4: GW 25, Davidson 13
- GW's attack committed just four miscues in a wire-to-wire fourth-set win to clinch the match.
- The Colonials swung .297 (15k-4e-37a) while holding Davidson to just .023 (8k-7e-44a).
- GW started on an 8-2 run before extending the lead to 18-8 and cruised down the stretch to the victory.

- The Colonials visit two of the top teams in the Atlantic 10 next weekend with matches at Saint Louis (Oct. 20, 8 p.m. ET) and Dayton (Oct. 22, 1 p.m.).
